Cleaning Up South Park with Appfire Bulgaria – Another Step Toward a Greener Sofia

On October 17 (Friday), we held a joint volunteer event with our gold sponsors and friends from Appfire Bulgaria, dedicated to cleaning up South Park in Sofia.

With the support of the “Green Systems” Directorate of Sofia Municipality, our team joined efforts to clean the paths around “The Hill with the Compass.” Together, we removed overhanging dry branches and fallen trees that were blocking access and cluttering the area.

Our 11 volunteers split into teams — some gathered and transported the cut branches and logs, while others cleaned the meadows, wooded areas, and the playground. Even the most overgrown and hard-to-reach slopes weren’t left behind.

All waste was collected and disposed of separately, with recyclable materials sent to the proper facilities.

The result: 30 full bags of trash, three small truckloads of branches and logs, and the complete cleanup of an illegal dumping site that had been previously reported by citizens.
