“Every Child Deserves Christmas 2025”: A First Christmas Gathering and Personal Gifts for 99 Children from the Village of Cherni Vrah
At the end of 2025, Surya Foundation carried out the campaign “Every Child Deserves Christmas”, through which it supported for the first time the children and young people of the village of Cherni Vrah, Montana Municipality.
The village is located in an area with high unemployment and serious social challenges, where many families live in conditions of deprivation and the holiday season often passes unnoticed.
Cherni Vrah is home to 99 children aged 0 to 18, and for many of them this was the first Christmas gift they had ever received. The campaign allowed donors to personally choose a gift for a specific child, knowing the child’s age and gender — an approach that turned each donation into a truly personal gesture.
Surya Foundation joined as a partner in the first-ever Christmas celebration held in Cherni Vrah. Together with volunteers, festive decorations were prepared, along with a special program and a visit from Santa Claus, creating a sense of magic and belonging. The gift-giving became the highlight of the celebration – a moment filled with smiles, excitement, and genuine joy.
The campaign was made possible thanks to the support of numerous donors – both individual and corporate – who stood behind the cause with trust and responsibility. Each gift was carefully selected, and every donation was directed toward ensuring that no child was left without a holiday surprise.
“Every Child Deserves Christmas 2025” marked the beginning of a new partnership for Surya Foundation – one built on care, consistency, and the belief that even a first meeting can be the start of long-term change. This year, Christmas in Cherni Vrah was brighter, louder, and more heartfelt – just as every child deserves.
