The SURIA Foundation has launched a new charity campaign to build an educational greenhouse at a selected school in Sofia for children aged 7 to 18. The project aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn by growing fruits, vegetables, herbs, berry bushes, and even fruit trees in a modern, year-round greenhouse. The planned greenhouse will cover an area of 100 square meters, offering space for movement and work for 30 students.
This year-round educational greenhouse is designed to give students hands-on learning opportunities in biology, agronomy, sustainable development, and ecological agriculture. It will be equipped with systems that enable plant cultivation throughout all seasons, regardless of external weather conditions.
The greenhouse will serve not only as a practical agricultural training space but also as a tool for ecological education, fostering respect and love for nature. Children will develop skills in soil management and healthy food production while learning the importance of sustainability and environmental conservation.
Construction Needs:
Structure
The greenhouse will be climate-resistant, built with durable metal (e.g., galvanized steel) and transparent polycarbonate material that allows light to pass through.
Climate Control
Heating, ventilation, and cooling systems to maintain optimal plant growth temperatures year-round.
Irrigation System
A drip irrigation system for automatic watering and humidity control.
Lighting
Artificial light sources (LED lamps) to compensate for sunlight during the winter months.
Soil and Beds
Enriched soils and biodegradable beds for cultivating various crops.
