The Family-Type Accommodation Center for Children and Persons with Disabilities (FTACCPD) in Cherven Bryag provides a home, security, and guaranteed access to specialized healthcare, educational, social, and other services, along with individualized care and support tailored to the users’ needs.

Currently, the center houses a total of 13 children and individuals aged between 13 and 38 years, all with severe physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities. The center has a capacity of 14 places and operates as a state-delegated activity under the administration of the Cherven Bryag Municipality. Management of the residential service transitioned from a private provider (2016–2021) to the municipality. Between 2021 and 2024, significant improvements have been made to the facility, including repairs to the sewage system, replacement of flooring, door and blind repairs, and more.
However, due to the nature of the service, there remains a pressing need for ongoing maintenance. Naturally, the immediate needs of the residents take priority, which has delayed the execution of the renovation program. The specific nature of the care and the behavioral conditions of the residents lead to frequent wear and tear or damage to walls, floors, and furniture.
What is needed right now?
- Repainting the rooms with washable latex paint suitable for the specific needs of the residents.
- Securing corners with guards to prevent possible injuries.
- Replacing the laminated flooring in one of the rooms, which is visibly compromised.
