How this campaign ended
What we achieved
Last weekend, we returned to the saplings near Aleko Hut to prepare them for winter by clearing grass and improving the soil. This provided better conditions for the young trees and supported the sustainable growth of Vitoshaβs forest.
How the campaign unfolded
A small group of dedicated volunteers from Appfire and our regular supporters worked together in a positive atmosphere, caring for each tree and reinforcing the importance of community and consistency in environmental initiatives.

In the spring, together with dozens of volunteers, we planted saplings near Aleko Hut, at the foot of Vitosha. It was a day full of enthusiasm, togetherness, and hope β hope that the care we gave would one day grow into a healthy, green forest.
Now, a few months later, weβre going back to check on them.
Why is this important?
Winter is coming, and while snow is the beauty and pride of Vitosha, it can also be a serious challenge for young trees. The tall grass around them holds the weight of the snow, often causing the saplings to be buried, suffocated, or even broken.
Thatβs why our mission this weekend is to clear the grass and give the young trees a better chance to survive the harsh winter conditions.
