Support for Improving the Environment at Day Care Center “Sveta Marina”
Surya Foundation is launching a new fundraising campaign in support of the Day Care Center for Adults with Disabilities “Sveta Marina” in Sofia – a place that provides daily care, education, and support for young people with disabilities.
The goal of the campaign is specific and fully focused on improving the environment in which the students and the Center’s team spend the active part of their day.

What We Aim to Provide?
Two air conditioners for the dining areas of two educational groups
Each educational group includes between 22 and 23 young people, supported daily by an occupational therapist, social worker, social therapist, and other specialists following an established program.The dining areas are a key space in the Center. They are used for three meals a day, culinary therapy sessions, and a significant portion of daily activities. During the summer months, these rooms become extremely hot, creating discomfort and making the educational and therapeutic process more difficult.Providing air conditioners will ensure cooling during the hot season as well as heating during transitional months. This will result in a more stable environment, better concentration, and a calmer working atmosphere for both students and staff.
Sound system for the Center’s corridors
Music therapy is one of the most effective and beloved therapies for the Center’s students. It supports emotional well-being, communication, and a sense of safety.The corridors are spaces where students spend time throughout the day – upon arrival and departure, during transitions between activities, and when meeting parents and relatives. Installing a sound system will allow music therapy to extend beyond the classrooms and become part of the daily environment. This will create a calmer, more positive, and more welcoming atmosphere for everyone in the Center.

Supporting people with disabilities means supporting equality and a dignified life. The quality of the environment in which people learn and work has a direct impact on development, confidence, and everyday comfort.Through this campaign, we are contributing to better conditions for over 40 young people, more effective therapeutic work, and a sustainable improvement in the care provided at Day Care Center “Sveta Marina”.

Administrative Fee: 7% of the donated amount will be used to cover administrative costs, ensuring the effective management and transparency of the campaign.
