What we achieved
We cultivated and weeded nearly 500 young trees in “The New Forest of Sofia.”
How the campaign unfolded
20 volunteers, including the team from Chaos, took active part, while the Iskar District administration committed to watering. The campaign was marked by teamwork, support from local residents, and gratitude to all partners.

Why Is This Important?
After planting young trees in the Abdovitsa neighborhood as part of the “Sofia’s New Forest” initiative, it’s time for the next essential step — caring for them. With the help of volunteers, we’ll remove the grass and weeds around the saplings. These weeds not only steal valuable nutrients but also block water from reaching the roots.
This activity will significantly increase the chances of the trees taking root successfully and eventually becoming part of the city’s green belt.
How Can You Join?
Come on August 20 at 9:30 AM to the meeting point:
the bus stop at the bridge over the Iskar River in Abdovitsa.
We will provide work gloves and tools for all registered participants.
Spots are limited — please make sure to register in advance via here.
We recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and drinking water.
