The bus for Cherven Bryag has been handed over
A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311 CDI is now in Cherven Bryag, serving two social services. The campaign is closed — here is the report: what was delivered, to whom, and on what paperwork.

- The situation before
- Cherven Bryag has no hospital. Every appointment, every therapy session, every activity outside town depended on hired transport or someone else's favour. For the children, young people and adults in the two social services, some of them with limited mobility, leaving depended on somebody else's schedule.
- What was delivered
- A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311 CDI, 2008, with nine seats, donated to the municipality of Cherven Bryag for the sole use of the family-type care centre for children and young people with disabilities and the sheltered housing for adults with intellectual disabilities. Before handover the bus went through a full mechanical overhaul: injectors, front and rear brakes, shock absorbers, belts and pulleys, glow plugs, lambda sensor, oil and filters, four new tyres. The bus has a ramp and a dedicated wheelchair space.
- What changes
- Travel stops being an event. An appointment is booked when it is needed, not when transport happens to be free. Both services — the children's centre and the sheltered housing — share one bus instead of waiting for outside transport.
On 2026-09-18 we handed over the bus in Cherven Bryag. The handover protocol was signed by the mayor, Атанас Атанасов. The bus is reserved entirely for the family-type care centre for children and young people with disabilities and the sheltered housing for adults with intellectual disabilities.

The numbers
The bus is valued at €11670; the pre-handover overhaul cost €3662 across two invoices. €15332 in total.
How much of that came from donations, and how many donors stand behind it, goes here as soon as we reconcile the bank statement. The rest was covered by the foundation.
Who helped
And every other donor we are not naming, because there are too many of them — the best possible problem to have.
What comes next
The same question stands 130 kilometres away. In Lovech, 28 children and young people live in the “Lyubov” and “Nadezhda” centres, with appointments in Pleven and Sofia. We renewed the playground in their yard. Now we are raising money for the bus.
